Statement of ExpectationsThe Government's expectations of Centrelink are clearly set out for us by the Minister for Human Services in the 'Statement of Expectations'.
The Uhrig Review into the governance of statutory agencies such as Centrelink suggested that ministers use Statements "to provide greater clarity about government policies and objectives, including the policies and priorities [an agency] is expected to observe in conducting its operations". The Minister's Statement of Expectations covers the period 1 July 2007 to 30 June 2008. The Chief Executive Officer's response is contained in the Statement of Intent.
